Summer Lovin’!

Ahhhh….. summer will be here before we know it and… that means longer days, hotter nights, sitting under the stars and soaking up the nice weather. We know the grass is just starting to green up and spring flowers haven’t even really begun to see their full glory — but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate those warmer days ahead! HOW TO PLAY: To join us in this challenge, all you need to do is be inspired by this beautiful color palette above OR create with summer in mind! This one can be loosely interpreted — bottom line, we just want to see the fun things you create! If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCAPR13. Enter as many times as you like, but know that if you use Flourishes stamps, your entry counts twice! You have until April 12, at 5PM EST to enter. Just make sure you link your creation up below using our Inlinkz widget. As we said, winner gets our full April Release. So get those fingers inky!

Timeless Tuesday #214 ~ Wrap It With Ribbon!

Happy Tuesday and welcome to Flourishes! We’re starting a new month so we have a fabulous new guest designer joining us for April. Take a moment and welcome… Debbie Marcinkiewicz! We can’t wait to see what you have in store for us this month Debbie!

Now… on to the show! Grab a cuppa joe and join us for our newest Timeless Tuesday Challenge this week!

Hi everyone! It’s Denise and it’s my turn to host the Timeless Tuesday Challenge ! Your challenge this week is to layer two or more ribbons together (FTTC214). Take a wide ribbon and layer a more narrow ribbon over top of it, layer two or more colors of twine together, etc. Be sure to read the challenge rules below for more details.

For my card, I used stamps from my Strawberries stamp set, which is one of my favorites! I layered some sheer ribbon over some white crochet lace. The image is stamped on Classic White CS and the scallop oval is up on foam tape. Papers are Pebbles Seen and Noted, and the layout is Deconstructed Sketch #95. Oh, and I added some stardust Stickles to the center of the flower and all around the image.

The Copics Collections I used for my creation this week are: BG000, BG10, BG11, G21, G24, G28, G40, R20, R22, R24:

Some Exciting News!

Hi all! Hope you had a blessed Easter. We have some exciting news to share and we just couldn’t wait! First up, last week if you read the Flourishes blog, you know that it was Maki Jones’ last week with the girls who usher in the Timeless Tuesday Challenge week in and week out. Well, what we didn’t tell you then was — Maki isn’t going anywhere, in fact……

Maki is one of the newest members of the Flourishes Senior Design Team! We should have spilled the beans then but what fun would that be? So, don’t worry, she will still be creating with Flourishes and will be doing a lot more of it! So congrats Maki! Ms. Maki has been with Flourishes since September of 2009 and she’s been wowing us ever since! She’ll start creating with the Senior DT this Friday as we usher in our Release Week Challenge for April!

With Maki’s departure from the Timeless Tuesday Team comes a WONDERFUL opportunity for one super talented designer!

Well, it could be YOU!!!!! Do you love to stamp? Do you love to create cards, layouts and other fabulous projects? Then we want YOU!

For the first time in Flourishes’ history, we are having a design team call for our Friends of Flourishes Team. If you are a creative person that loves to stamp then this is the job for you! Our newest team member will be expected to post on their blog every Tuesday and will be given a new challenge every week to create with showing off the beautiful versatility of Flourishes stamps! Members will not only receive product from the Flourishes store but a discount as well. The person chosen will be given all the specifics on all the perks when they are invited to join the team. Timeless Tuesday #213 ~ Grab Some Thread!

Happy first full week of Spring everyone! Have you spied any flowers sprouting or trees budding yet around your area? We’re certainly excited about the prospects of green grass and leaves soon. We’d like to take a quick moment to thank our guest designer, Deborah Felts for joining us this month. Thanks deb for all your fabulous creation inspiration for March!

And with great sadness, our extremely talented Friends of Flourishes team member, Makiko Jones, is leaving our Flourishes family. This will be the last challenge she will be with us so please make sure you take a moment and visit her blog and bit her a fond farewell from the team. We know we’ll see her around but we’ll miss her dearly! Best wishes in your future endeavors Maki!!

NOW… Let’s find out what our last challenge of March will be…

Hello everyone! I’m Maki and it is my turn to host the Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC213)!

The challenge is to use any sewing, stitching technique into your project. Don’t like to sew?? Faux stitches are also welcome! Please be sure to read the challenge rules below for more details.

For my card, I used Stitched For You set. My sewing skill is very limited. I can sew only straight or zig-zag… LOL. I really need to bring my sewing machine to different projects around my house.

I mainly used Classic White cardstock for the card and some leftover designer papers for the strips. Then I sewed them with sewing machine. The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers. The frame and sentiment piece were die cut with Perfectly Pierced dies (Victorian Ovals & Classic Window).

The rest of my supplies: Memento Rich Cocoa, Cantaloupe, Spellbinders die

Timeless Tuesday #212 ~ Bring On Spring!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome to the newest edition of the Flourishes “Timeless Tuesday Challenge“! Did you know that the first day of Spring is only TWO days away? Yikes! We still have a some snow here in Southern Alberta and I’m sure that Mother Nature isn’t quite done with us yet. Here’s hoping for some signs of Spring soon and for you too.

I’m your hostess, Ally and this week’s challenge is… you guessed it… all about Spring! We want to see a Spring inspired card or project this week (FTTC212).

For my project this week, I was inspired by our very Spring-y bouquet of tulips from the March release, “Tulips for Friends“.

I began with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base made from Flourishes Classic White Cardstock. I die cut the card edge and then decorated the front with a variety of fun patterned papers.

I die cut a circle and a scalloped circle and adhered my simple greeting tag using the “Inside & Out: Hello” stamp set.

Then I stamped my full tulip bouquet from the “Tulips for Friends” stamp set onto Flourishes Classic White Cardstock using Memento “Pistachio” ink.

I colored my bouquet using the following Copic Collections and markers BG23, BG32, R000, RV11 and RV42:
