Timeless Tuesday #254 ~ Button Up!

Timeless-Tuesday-New-LogoHappy Tuesday everyone!  I sure hope that where ever you live, you are warm and dry as winter still plugs on across the country.  Let’s find out what our lovely hostess, Jenny, has in store for our Timeless Tuesday Challenge today…

It’s Jenny here today! I hope that everyone is back in the swing of regular life and stamping, now that the busy holidays are past us. Today the challenge is all about the weather… when it’s cold out side, you have to button up! I think we all have been doing way too much of that lately, even here in the South!

FTTC254 Winter Buttons NEWIMAGE

For Timeless Tuesday Challenge this week I’d like you to use at least one button embellishment, along with a winter themed card.

FLLC BUTTONS winter 254 1

Where’s my button you ask… it’s small but it is there under the bow! I had fun airbrushing with the Snow Scenes set. Fitting my scene in to the Perfectly Pierced Window Die.

FLLC BUTTONS winter 254 2

I used Eclipse Tape to mask off snow drifts and gently airbrushed with Copic W4, continually moving my torn paper to look like rolling hills. I used a circle cut out to mask the moon.

FLLC BUTTONS winter 254 3The sentiment was also cut out with a die in the Perfectly Pierced Window Die set. The sentiment seems perfect for all this crazy cold weather of late and is from the Snow Wonderful Set.

I hope you’ll join along with us this week.  Remember to link up your card creation in the InLinkz below!  Good luck!

Timeless Tuesday #253 & Introducing… Flowers for Jan!

Hello all and welcome to a very special kick off to Flourishes’ January Release! Not only are we ushering the new release in with a fun-filled Timeless Tuesday Challenge but we are showcasing a set designed to honor Flourishes’ owner and founder.

INTRODUCING….

FlowersForJanGraphic

Wisteria, Peonies and Bearded Iris — all three of these flowers are favorites of Flourishes’ founder and owner Jan Marie Caruso. Sentimentally illustrated by Marcella Hawley, these beautiful blooms honor the lady at the helm at Flourishes. Three breathtaking flowers paired with three beautifully scripted words and five accent words. This 4″ by 6″ set is sure to be one you reach for just to send creations to friends far and wide for any and all occasions!

Would you like to win this set along with the other two sets being released this month? All you need to do is play along with us!!!

Hi there everybody… it’s Katie here, your hostess for today’s Timeless Tuesday Challenge!  As an added  bonus, we are revealing a special new stamp set today, Flowers for Jan!  This is one incredible set that you are sure to want to add to your Flourishes collection!  So here is my challenge to you today:

FTTC253 Get in Shape NEWIMAGEYep… we’re all “getting in shape” today!  For my card, I used the iris image from this beautiful collection of flowers.

Footprints in your Heart blog watermark

I used a few Spellbinders dies for my card… Classic Ovals Small, Floral Ovals and for my card base Labels 28.  I stamped my image and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock while it was still in the oval die.

Next, I colored my image with Copic Markers, put it back in the oval die, and sponged Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink around to give it an aged look.  I wanted to make this look like a vintage cameo, so I added a few layers of Ultra Thick Embossing powder and heat set each layer. Versamark ink is perfect for this to adhere your UTEE. After 3 layers, I let it cool and then cracked it to make it look like cracked glass!  This is such a fun technique and it really gives your project that vintage feel.

I finished off my image by edging it out with a Krylon Gold Leafing pen, layering it with a few papers, then adhering it to my gold leafed Floral Oval die cut and layered Labels 28 card base.  I left this free from any other embellishment so the beautiful image and cracked glass finish could be center stage.

Please join us by creating your own “Get in Shape” masterpiece and linking up for a chance to win a prize!  But before you do, you simply must check out what all of our design team members have created for your inspiration… I am sure it will be amazing!  Make sure you leave them all some blog love while you are there.. .they love hearing from you!

~ Katie ~

Timeless Tuesday #252 ~ Shake it Up!

Timeless-Tuesday-New-LogoHappy Tuesday everyone!  Well we certainly hope that you have had a great holiday and are looking forward to ringing in the new year with someone special.

This is officially our last Timeless Tuesday Challenge for 2013!  Wow… where did the year go?  This is also our last week of our December Guest Designers.  I’d like to thank Kerin Sylvester, Tricia Traxler, Greta Hess and our final designer, Jessi Fogan, for joining us this month.  It’s been a pleasure working with each one of you this month!

Let’s find out a little bit more about Jessi…

Jessi Fogan copyWelcome Jessi!  Let’s find out what Jessi’s challenge is for us this week…

Hello everyone! I’m Jessi and I’m still over the moon at being able to host a challenge here at Flourishes - eek! One of my favourite kinds of cards to create for the sheer WOW factor is shaker cards – so I’m challenging you to join me…

FTTC252 Shaker CardHere is a quick link to a Splitcoaststampers tutorial on how to make a basic shaker card, click here!

I’ve used a gorgeous set called “Joy is In the Air” to create my shaker card. This is perfect for not only holiday cards, but for wintery thank you cards!

Since the snow globe works as a natural setting for my shaker opening, I’ve stamped two, and carefully cut out the inside globe of what will be the top of my shaker. Line the back of this piece with acetate, and set aside.

Stamp & colour the second piece – you’ll want to add all your details to this piece, as it’s what will show in the finished card.

IMG_2379 1

Make a frame to hold your shaker pieces – I use a double layer of foam tape so that there’s lots of room for things to move around. Fill the frame with all sorts of little things – I’ve used glitter, shaped confetti and micro-beads. (Sequins, seed beads, buttons – anything thinner than your foam layer will work!). Remove the adhesive liner, and adhere the top piece, making sure to line up the images, and finish your card as you desire!

I’ve added a bow made of sheer & silk ribbons for one final touch to my card.  Be sure to link up your creations on the Flourishes blog! I can’t wait to see them!

Timeless-Tuesday-New-LogoHowdy stampers!  Welcome to another fabulous “Timeless Tuesday Challenge” here at Flourishes!  If you are just joining us this month, we are featuring a new Guest Designer each week and this week I’d like to introduce you to Greta Hess!  Let’s learn a little bit more about Greta shall we…

Greta Hess copyAnd now onto Greta’s challenge for all of this week…

Hello everyone.  I’m Greta and  I’m thrilled to be hosting this week’s Timeless Tuesday Challenge!  I’ve always loved the look of vellum & how it can be used in many ways.  My challenge for you is to…

FTTC251 Vellum copy

I took a break from holiday cards this week to create a Valentine or Wedding card using Flourishes wonderful Letters in Blossom set.

Flourishes LOVE GDT

After arranging the letters on my acrylic block I stamped & embossed them in white on vellum that had been die cut.  The larger die from that set was used for the card base.  The flowers & leaves are colored with markers & Stickles is added to the letters.  I attached a sheer pink bow & pink embellishments for the finishing touch.  I hope I’ve inspired you to get out that vellum and join us for this week’s challenge and your chance to win!  For plenty of inspiration, check out the other creations by the Timeless Tuesday Team.
