Timeless Tuesday #259 ~ A Lotta Polka Dots

Howdy fellow stamp lovers!!!  We are lucky enough in Alberta to have celebrated Family Day yesterday so not only was the sunny shining brightly but the temperature was just perfect to spend it outside with our loved ones.  I even enjoyed a nice nap curled up with my warm kitty in the afternoon.  Awww… nice to have a relaxing day off!  I hope you had some nice sunny weather where you live too!  Now… onto our challenge!
It’s Jenny here for today’s challenge. I sure hope everyone has made it through the crazy weather safely! Snow Days are always good for stamping! But I’ve hit my limit for snow here in Atlanta! The challenge is an easy one, any color, any theme, just incorporate polka dots in to your design somewhere!
I hope you can find some time to play along this week!
I used the very cute Lots of Thoughts stamp set. I’m not sure where the purple came from. I guess I was still thinking about the Radiant Orchid Challenge! I had this pretty Lavender Seam Binding sitting on my desk too… I guess that’s what sparked it! I stamped on Flourishes Classic White Card Stock using Memento ink.  I used Copic Markers: V17, 15, 12 and 01 to shade the balloons.
On the inside I added a sentiment from the same set. I used Memento Elderberry ink to stamp. Finished card is 4 1/4″ Square.

Timeless Tuesday #258 ~ WOOD You Be Mine?

Hello there all you Flourishes Fans!  Hope you have had a great start to the week!  Have you checked out the Gambler’s Sale going on?  If not, you really should….40% off this week….at this rate things will be disappearing fast, so you’d better check it out if you still have items on your perpetual “wish list“!

Timeless-Tuesday-New-Logo

Now for our challenge this week… Katie here, I am your hostess this week and I have a question for you…”Wood” You Be Mine?  That’s right, I am challenging you to incorporate any wood element in to your card or project.

Now, despite the play on words… it does not have to be specifically a Valentine’s card, any card or project will do as long as there is some kind of wood element present.  Let your imagination run wild!  I decided to do a birthday card this week and use the gorgeous stamp set Cherry Blossoms for my main image.

I thought the cherry blossom branch paired with a wood texture plate would make an interesting combination.  I ended up stamping my image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to Flourishes Classic White card stock then coloring it in with Copics.  Next, I used the “Out of the Box” technique for my oval die cut/sentiment treatment…actually, this is the reverse of that with my fussy cut portion of the image spilling into the negative space, if that makes sense.
The rest of the card is simply another white cardstock panel underneath the image panel and a card base of Tonal Neutrals Color Made Easy card stock.  I did pull out my trusty Krylon 18KT Gold Leafing pen for some of the vertical edges and I also sponged some Ranger Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass to give a little pop of color for my sentiment and some Ranger Distress Ink in Antique Linen for some detail around the edges.  And speaking of sentiment, it is actually from the Hollyhocks stamp set.
For my finishing touches, I used my Atyou Spica Clear Glitter pen, a Faber-Castell Pitt artist pen in white, and some tiny pearls.  I am not sure if you can see it in the photo, but there is a little sparkle on the open cherry blossoms from the glitter pen.
Well, that is all for my card this week.  I hope you are inspired to play along with us this week….but before you go getting all Paul Bunyan on your own project, please check out what my incredibly talented team mates have created for you…and make sure you leave them a little blog love while you are there!  Don’t forget to link up your project on the Flourishes site for a chance to win a prize!  We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Timeless Tuesday #257 ~ Red & Love

Timeless-Tuesday-New-LogoWelcome back to another Timeless Tuesday challenge blogger friends!  It’s Deborah here and I am happy to be your hostess this week with a challenge you are sure to feel the love! But first, have you checked out this weeks Gamblers Sale? You sure don’t want to miss out on it because everything is 30% off!!! Head over to get those items you have been wanting before it’s gone.

I’m your challenge hostess Deborah…. let’s talk challenge here. I am challenging you to create…

FTTC257 Love Red

How’s that to get your Valentine mojo going? Get creative and show us the love!

I went very CAS this week to showcase this image from Kids Play.  I thought it would be sweet to take this image and make it as if she were blowing hearts instead of a dandelion.  The hearts were drawn in after I stamped the image with some Versamark and then some Versafine ink in black and then adding some detail black embossing powder.  I then heated it with my heat gun.  Before adhering that panel to the red, I scored the top and bottom of the white panel for an extra element.  The hearts were colored in and some Sakura clear glitter pen was added to that.  The sentiment was from the new release of Wild Roses stamped with Memento ink in Rhubarb red.  The card was finished with some red seam binding ribbon and a paper rose.

Thanks for joining us today and we sure hope you take a moment to stop by each of the Timeless Tuesday team blogs to leave a little love!

Timeless Tuesday #256 ~ 2014 Pantone Color

Timeless-Tuesday-New-LogoHello fellow Flourishes fans!  It’s Tuesday and we’re here with another fantastic Timeless Tuesday Challenge for you!  Have you checked out the latest and greatest Gambler’s Sale this week?  You don’t want to miss this… it’s 20% off everything in the store.  Things go fast, so shop now to ensure you get all those stamps on your “must have” list!  Click here for more details and your shopping code.

This week Allison is our hostess and she is challenging you to create using the newest Pantone Color of the year… Radiant Orchid… but any shade of purple will do!

FTTC256 Purple

According to the Pantone View, “Since 2000, the Pantone Color Institute™ has been designating a Color of the Year to express in color what is taking place in the global zeitgeist. A color that will resonate around the world, the PANTONE Color of the Year is a reflection of what people are looking for, what they feel they need that color can help to answer. Not necessarily the hot fashion color of the moment, but a color crossing all areas of design which is an expression of a mood, an attitude, on the part of the consumers.”  Have fun using purple in your creations this week!

Howdy all… Ally here!  For this week’s challenge I decided to create a tag instead of card.  And since my challenge for you this week incorporates my favourite colour purple, I wanted to get super creative and inky.

I started with some gesso and the super cool Tim HoltzDot FadeLayering Stencil and made some raised dots on my manilla tag.

07 Chrysanthemum Tag Allison CopeFor my tag today I used the following Copic Markers to airbrush and colour my back ground and images:CO 10-2 CO 26-2

I used the following stamp sets for my tag: Chrysanthemum, for the flowers and the sentiment; So Distressed, for the chevrons and the Vintage Wallpaper (my new favourite stamp!! – a mixed media must-have!), for the background resist.

To finish off my tag, I strung some gorgeous “Peach“, “Mango Orange” and “Lavender” Seam Binding Ribbon through the tag’s hole and tied it off with a brad.

Make sure to check out my blog today, as I have done a step-by-step tutorial on how I created my tag.  I used a Copic Blender Solution resist technique that is a must-see!  Thanks for joining us today.  I can’t wait to see your purple creations this week!

~ Ally ~

Timeless Tuesday #255 ~ In with the NEW!

Timeless-Tuesday-New-LogoHey fellow stamp lovers!  Welcome to another fabulous edition of our Timeless Tuesday Challenge here at Flourishes!  We are excited to begin this week, our Gambler’s Sale.  Have seen the DEAL we have goin’ on?  If not, you can check out all the sale’s details for this week, right HERE.

Now… on to the show!

Hello! Cheryl here, and I’m your hostess for this week’s challenge. By now, we’ve packed up all the holiday decorations, eaten all the leftovers, and put another year behind us. Ahhh… Everything has calmed down, and we’re back in our normal, comfortable routines. But, as nice as that is, isn’t it fun when something NEW comes along that begs to be celebrated?

FTTC255 In With the NEW

For this week, I’m challenging you to create a card that celebrates something NEW… a house, job, baby, marriage, car, hope, year…. You get the idea. :) Spread Your Wings-facing rightAround our house these days, we are celebrating a new attitude and a new focus. Up until recently, school has been easy for my DD. She has been able to learn most everything by osmosis–her focus was primarily on “play,” not “study.” But, this year is different, and she is finally having to make a more studious effort. It’s a whole new way of being for her, and she is handling it beautifully! So, to celebrate, I colored up this sweet fairy from the Garden Fairies stamp set, using Copic Markers on Classic White Cardstock. I cut her out with a Spellbinders die, using the out-of-the-box technique and popped it up over a circle die cut and a Flourishes’ Victorian Oval die cut, which was cut from Spring Breeze cardstock. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.Spread Your Wings-inside

I used the same Spring Breeze cardstock on the inside, die cutting a decorative curve in it, then topped that with a piece of die cut white cardstock. The inside sentiment is from the Always Blooming stamp set. I just love that the sentiment could be curved to match the die cut curve.
