Got Copics?

Hello Stampers~

Have you bit the bullet and purchased some Copic markers for yourself yet? Did you see that Flourishes has a bunch of wonderful new Copic marker collections to supplement their already fabulous selection? I LOVE the collections that Flourishes carries…makes it easy-peasy to shade your images!

For my card above I used the following collections: Creamy, Copper, Blue Jean, Cool Neutrals, Green Grass, and Poppy.
Here’s a close-up of the colored image from the What a Catch stamp set:
On the hat I used the Copper Copic Collection, and added some fun stripes with the Copic Colorless Blender. You can also add polka dots and other fun textures using the Blender. Experiment and see what you come up with! :)

The blue nailheads on either side of the image are actually Copper Nailheads. I colored them using the B97 Copic marker from the Blue Jeans collection. I then colored them twill ribbon using the B95 Copic marker from that same collection. The twill ribbon used to be ivory, but you could really use any light color as your base. I love being able to match my ribbons and embellishments exactly with just a swipe of a Copic marker…so cool! :)

Here’s a previous card that I made in which I colored both the pearls and the crystal stick pin with Copic markers.

If you haven’t tried using your Copic markers to change the color of your ribbons or other embellishments, I highly recommend that you give it a try. Have fun experimenting!

Next, you’ll want to stop by the rest of the design team blogs to see what they’ve created with Flourishes new Copic marker collections.

Thanks for stopping by the Flourishes blog today!

Flourishes Friday

Welcome to Flourishes’ Friday Focus. This week we have a guest designer joining us! Over on Splitcoaststampers,  Stacy does an amazing job finding all kinds of customer creations for our Weekly “Check It Out” Favorites Thread.  As I was checking them out, I noticed one stamper had created a monthly card to send to her friends.  That stamper is joining us this week.  I would like to welcome Cheryl Scrivens as our guest this week.  Cheryl told me that she was  given the Year Of Flowers 1,2 and 3 stamp sets last year as a gift and she decided to share her talents each month with 3 dear friends.
With the first calendar page Cheryl gave her friends  a stand as seen here.  She then created a calendar each month and sent it to them.  She also sends along a sentiment stamped on a piece of cardstock so that after the month is over they can use it to cover the calendar part. Cheryl chose the A Year In Flowers 2. The ribbon is the May Arts Silk Deep Rose available at Flourishes.
.
I thought this was such a great idea for my family back home.  Each month I will create a card using these stamp sets and the CALENDAR that Flourishes offers for FREE.  I used the A Year In Flowers 1. I stamped my image onto Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  I printed my calendar out using Julie’s directions found HERE. I also used the May Arts Crocheted Ribbon on my card. The embellishments are the  Basic Grey Rhinestone and the Corner Flourishes Pearls.

Some of the Flourishes gals also were inspired this week by calendars. So hop on over and see…

Thanks so much for joining me this week and a big thank you to Cheryl for sharing her talents!
