Now… on to the show!
Hello! Cheryl here, and I’m your hostess for this week’s challenge. By now, we’ve packed up all the holiday decorations, eaten all the leftovers, and put another year behind us. Ahhh… Everything has calmed down, and we’re back in our normal, comfortable routines. But, as nice as that is, isn’t it fun when something NEW comes along that begs to be celebrated?
For this week, I’m challenging you to create a card that celebrates something NEW… a house, job, baby, marriage, car, hope, year…. You get the idea. Around our house these days, we are celebrating a new attitude and a new focus. Up until recently, school has been easy for my DD. She has been able to learn most everything by osmosis–her focus was primarily on “play,” not “study.” But, this year is different, and she is finally having to make a more studious effort. It’s a whole new way of being for her, and she is handling it beautifully! So, to celebrate, I colored up this sweet fairy from the Garden Fairies stamp set, using Copic Markers on Classic White Cardstock. I cut her out with a Spellbinders die, using the out-of-the-box technique and popped it up over a circle die cut and a Flourishes’ Victorian Oval die cut, which was cut from Spring Breeze cardstock. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
I used the same Spring Breeze cardstock on the inside, die cutting a decorative curve in it, then topped that with a piece of die cut white cardstock. The inside sentiment is from the Always Blooming stamp set. I just love that the sentiment could be curved to match the die cut curve.
