Timeless Tuesday #220 ~ Blue & Green

TimelessBlinkie

Welcome everyone!  We are extremely happy to welcome our three  newest designers, Katie Sims, Jenny Gropp and Judy Rozema to the Friends of Flourishes Team and all three of them will be playing along with us this week.

But with that happy news, we have some sad news to report too.  It is with great sadness that we report that our long-time designer Cindy Haffner will be leaving our team.  Cindy is off on a new adventure… a new home, a new town… some brand new life adventures!  So please, take a moment a visit Cindy’s blog HERE and wish her well on her new venture!  Thanks Cindy for being a part of the Flourishes family.  We’ll miss you!

Now… on to our challenge!!

Hi everyone! It’s Broni and I’m hosting this week’s Timeless Tuesday Challenge. My challenge to you is to use the colors blue and green (FTTC220). It’s pretty simple…whether you color your image blue and green or just use blue and/or green ribbon, it’s up to you!

FTTC220 Just Because Tea Rose

I used the beautiful new Old Tea Rose stamp set for my card. It’s stamped in Desert Sand Memento ink onto Flourishes Classic ivory cardstock. I colored the rose itself in neutrals and then colored the leaves in greens and the background in blues using these Copic Collections:BG000 Emerald Coast BG0000 Iced AquaG20 Leaf GreenRich Browns

My card base is also ivory and I used mats from both the Pistachio and Emerald Coast paper collections. I rolled back one of the corners and added some beautiful Teal Blue seam binding. The sentiment is stamped in Rich Cocoa ink.

Please play along with us! We always love to see your beautiful creations!

Timeless Tuesday #218 ~ It’s All in the Date!

TimelessBlinkieHowdy Flourishes fans!  How are you this fine Tuesday?  Are you ready for another fabulous challenge from our Friends of Flourishes Team?  Before we get to our challenge today, I want to take a moment to thank our April Guest Designer, Debbie Marcinkiewicz for tagging along with our team and designing some amazing creations this month!  Thanks Debbie!  We sure hope you will continue to play along with us in the future.  Alrighty… grab a cuppa your favorite beverage and let’s begin our challenge journey…

I’m Ally, your hostess this week, welcome to the last “Timeless Tuesday Challenge” for April!  Yes… May is only a few days away!

This week’s challenge is all about DATES… birth DATES that is!  For this challenge, we want you to create with the TWO items listed next to your birth month (see image below).  So for example, my birthday is in June, so I had to create a “birthday themed” project using the color pink.  You may use any additional supplies in your creation as long as you use the 2 elements listed below.

If you have any questions about this week’s challenge, please leave a comment below and I’ll be able to get answer to you.

So  as I said above, I have to create project using the JUNE elements: a birthday theme and the color pink!  Here is the card that I came up with…

handlebars FTTC218 Allison Cope

I first started with a simple A2 card base using Flourishes Classic Kraft Cardstock.  I created a mat using Flourishes Classic Black Cardstock next and created my multiple patterned paper layers with additional stitching detail.

For my focal image, I die cut a rectangle from Flourishes Classic White Cardstock. Leaving the die on the cardstock, I stamped the present image from the “Bike Ride” stamp set first.  I created a simple “Post It Note” mask and then stamped my bike image right over the mask.  Then I took my Copic Marker airbrush tool and sprayed some Copic Y13 and splattered some R14 from the following Copic Collections:CO 02-2T

I removed the cardstock from the die and coloured the remainder of my image using these Copic Collections:CO 01-2TCO-54-2T CO 13-2TCO-60-2TCO-57-2TCO 25-2TCO 42-2T

Inside my card, I used the same patterned papers and created a block for my writing.  To finish off my birthday theme, I stamped my “Happy Birthday” greeting from the “Inside & Out: Happy” stamp collection using the Memento Ink colours, “Bahama Blue” and “Rose Bud“.  I also stamped another bike image from the “Bike Ride” stamp set in a more subtle yellow ink.handlebars inside Cope

I hope you have fun with my challenge this week!!

We had 30 fabulous entries including 14 entries that qualify for 2 ballots because that stamper used some Flourishes stamps for Deborah’s “Wedded Bliss” challenge last week.  Our randomly chosen winner is #28!  Congrats Kim L.!  Please email Allison at:  me.love.stamps@gmail.com to claim your prize!

Timeless Tuesday #217 ~ Wedded Bliss

Timeless-Tuesday-New-Logo

Hello fellow stamp lovers!  Welcome to the newest edition of the “Timeless Tuesday Challenge” here at Flourishes!  We are so happy you have joined us today.  Grab a cuppa of your favorite beverage and come along on a journey with our Friends of Flourishes Team today!  Let’s get started…

Happy Tuesday everyone! Welcome back to another Timeless Tuesday Challenge with me, Deborah, as your hostess.

This week is all about weddings! With summer around the corner, so are lots of weddings or wedding planning. My challenge to you this week is to create a project or card that has to do with, yep, you guessed it… weddings!

I have decided to go a little out of the box in creating my wedding “package” in hopes of giving some old ideas a new look!old ideas a new look!

As you can see, I have here a fan for those warm, outside summer weddings, a rice cone, and a tissue pouch for your guests.  Of course the tissue is to wipe away those tears of joy…  Here is a close up of the top of the cone:

I used the April’s new release stamp set of Bees and Blossoms which I found to be quite nice to use for a wedding.  I used the following Copic Collection colors for the flowers and bee:

For the fan, I colored in the blossoms and cut around to have it popped up over my Perfectly Pierced Victorian Oval die set.  I stamped the background using the Damask Background stamp (retired) while the green ribbon is some wonderful raw silk ribbon I have had in my stash.  The background stamp was a perfect size to make the fan and I rounded the corners for a softer look! I completed it by stamping the sentiment from Old Fashioned Florals on the bottom corner and some pearls on the die.

The rice cone is one I made using a 5″x 5″ piece of Flourishes Classic Cardstock in Ivory and stamped the image where I wanted it once it was to be rolled into a cone.  I would suggest a lighter paper or cardstock when making a cone such as this.  It will make rolling the cone a lot easier!  I then colored it and rolled it up using some Scor-tape to secure.  I then determined where to score the top flop so it can connect to the cone.  I punch a hole into the cone and flap for the twine to thread through.  I stamped and cut out the bee to be popped up on the flap.

The tissue pouch is one that I actually was making for my wedding 12 years ago that is from Martha Stewart. It uses an entire 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock, again, lighter is better, scored on the long side at 2″, 5″, and 1″.  Accordion fold and fold back the ends the length of the tissue and tuck into one another to hold.  Decorate as you wish!  I used some crochet ribbon and twine to wrap around the top and popped up one blossom cut out to use as the center image.  I then added the sentiment and the bee to complete it.

We hope you will join us in this challenge and show what fabulous wedding creations you all will share! Don’t forget to check out the other wonderful projects by the Timeless Tuesday Team!
