About a month ago, we put out a call — calling all designers far and wide — to join a truly International team! Our Bring Back Beautiful team has always been “Worldly” and we really wanted to emphasize that with a revamp of the team and a new focus on our monthly posts! It seems so appropriate that we are unveiling this now — when the world is united with the Olympics! From now on, we are putting the challenges aside and instead putting forth a “Creation Vacation” where you hit these different desitnations and see the creativity that is alive in all corners of the world. Starting tomorrow, Bring Back Beautiful is being changed to….
So many of you answered the call and we were amazed at the level of talent in each and every entry! After all the emails, we added four new designers to this one of a kind team! In addition to making the introductions, we asked them to share a little bit about themselves as well. So, it’s time to meet…
My name is Dina Kowal, and I blog at Mama Dini’s Stamperia. I have lived in Southeast Asia since 2005. My family is involved in teaching and discipleship at a training center there. I’ve been involved with design team work since 2007. I was honored to be featured In the Flourishes Limelight last July, and thoroughly enjoy working with Flourishes images. The images and stamps themselves are products I have bought for myself and would recommend even as a non-team member, and I feel that’s very important as a designer. I’ve always enjoyed the BBB challenge posts – coloring is one of my passions, especially realistic images, and Flourishes’ floral sets are among my favorites to color. I enjoy giving ‘life’ to images that I love! Visit Dina’s Blog!
My name is Anne-Elise Michel-Käyhkö. I was born in Switzerland and lived there about 20 years before moving to Finland. I am now married and we have four children, three boys and a girl. My mother tongue is french and I speak finnish with my husband and french with the kids! I’m a stay at home mother, but twice a week I teach french to Finnish adults. I have always liked doing some handcrafting but last summer I found the Big Shot in a shop nearby and from this time on I started making cards. I also have to tell you how I found Flourishes stamps! I was just surfing on the net and I found Yvonne’s blog! I was really impressed by her cards and your beautiful stamps! I love Spellbinders dies, pearls, stitching, vellum, tags, buttons, bows… I’m sometimes quite slow finding the right papers and embellishments because I just only want to have the best and most perfect colors! I am Sasha-Marie Holmes and I live in West Yorkshire, England, not far from the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. I am married to my soul mate, who has always been supportive, and encouraged me to follow my dreams. We have a wonderful son who is twenty-eight. I love Flourishes stamps. They are lovely to work with and give such a clear stamped image. It was through following Beate’s blog, and seeing her beautiful creations using Flourishes stamps, that got me hooked. In one way or another, I have crafted most of my life. My mother and grandmother were dressmakers, and from an early age they both taught me how to embroider, stitch, knit and crochet. I also do folk art painting, although now, paper crafting and card making are my favourite choice of craft! Check out Sasha’s Blog!
I *love* working with Flourishes images, what a fun opportunity! I was the Guest Designer with the Timeless Tuesday challenge in March, and loved my time there! I am a stay-at-home mum to my two little girls. I live in the Vancouver area of British Columbia, and spend my days splitting my time between my girls and crafting. Even my kids are learning to love card making! I am so glad to take this opportunity to share myself and my work with you! Visit Meredith’s Blog!
So let’s give a warm welcome to these new faces and be sure to check back tomorrow when they join the rest of the team in our first ever Beautiful World Hop! It’s sure to be a fun-filled globe trotting time!
