What’s the Score?

Happy Memorial Day!
In today’s Create With Me Monday post, I’ll be sharing some simple techniques for using the Scor-Buddy, as well as some Tim Holtz Distress Inks.
I couldn’t do a post on Memorial Day without making a patriotic card.

I used the Patriotism on Parade stamp set for this one.

I began by stamping the image and sentiment with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink along the bottom of a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Classic Ivory card stock.  I then scored a line just above the stamped image.  This gave me a starting point for my scored lines that will form the stripes at the top of the card.  I scored the stripes every 1/4″.
I then sponged on lots of Tim Holtz Distress Inks:  Barn Door, Stormy Sky, Antique Linen, & Walnut Stain.

My second card is equally simple, but more appropriate for a wedding or anniversary.
For this one, I scored two horizontal lines, then created a diamond-pattern on the top of the card.
Once I completed the scoring, I added a tiny pearl at each intersection.  I will admit that this was a bit time-consuming for an otherwise quick card; but I think it really adds a lot to the card.
The pretty Organza Rose Trim I used along the bottom of my card, was stained with a bit of Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters Distress Ink.

For a full demonstration of the techniques I’ve shared above, plus a whole lot more, please watch the video tutorial at the bottom of this post.  I hope you’ll find it informative and enjoyable.

Thanks for hanging with me today!
~Cindy
