Add a Splash of Watercolor!

Today’s Create With Me Monday post is all about the fabulous Letraset Aquamarkers that are new to the Flourishes store.  Have you seen them?  If you love to color, then let me assure you…you’re gonna want them!

Aquamarkers are a pigment-ink, water-based twin tip marker.  They have a fine nib on one end for detail work and a brush nib on the other end.  Because they are pigmented inks, they are vibrant, light-fast, and adic-free.  Yet you can watercolor with them because they are water-based.  To watercolor with them, you’ll either want to use a watercolor paintbrush, a water brush, or the Blender marker from Letraset.  Flourishes carries the Blender marker, and it is what I recommend using for the most controlled watercoloring (aka: less messy!).

PLEASE NOTE: If you use watercolor markers, you will need a permanent ink. I used Staz-On for my project but since this is a solvent based ink, it’s very, very important to clean your stamp immediately. Over time, solvent inks and solvent cleaners can break down and ruin the polymer on your stamps. You can also try Versafine or Brilliance inks as well — just heat set both before you start since they are both pigment instead of solvent based inks.
