Stamps & Scraps — Dear Santa….

Welcome to Stamps & Scraps for December! I’m Ally and I’ll be your “Creative Elf” for today!

Since we only have a few days left until Christmas I thought in honor of the holiday season I would show you a fun holiday inspired layout this month.

For my layout this month, I took some fun pictures of my son writing his letter to Santa Claus and I knew I had to scrap them… and fast! So I leafed through my many beautiful holiday Flourishes stamps and off course… who should appear?? But good ol’ St. Nick from the “Joy is in the Air” stamp collection!

I stamped good ol’ St. Nick using tuxedo black Memento ink on my Classic White Fourishes cardstock and coloured him with my Copic Markers. I then stamped one globe image on the white cardstock and a second one on a scrap piece of clear plastic using black Staz-On ink and I had the makings of a cute little Santa snow globe!

And here is my final holiday inspired creation…

Dear Santa

Supplies: stamps, cardstock, Flourishes; patterned papers, die cut shapes, brad, My Mind’s Eye; ink, Memento, Copic, Staz-On, Ranger; die cut oval, Spellbinder’s; glitter, Ranger; other, thread, clear plastic.

Here are a few close ups to show you some of my layout details:

I stamped that beautiful pine bough from the “All That Glitters” stamp set on to Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock and the “Dear Santa” sentiment is from the “Sentimental Christmas” set too.

I even added a few “nontraditional” elements to add depth and dimension! See those banners? That shape is from the “Birthday Pennants” stamp set! Yup… not even a holiday stamp set! Amazing what some glitter and the right colour of ink can do!!

Here’s a close up the final snow globe. I added some fun Stickles to make the snow in the image sparkle!
