I’m Ally and this month I want to talk a little bit about using sketches and your stamps. I’d have to say that sketches have to be one of the best pieces of inspiration to get me scrapping. A sketch gives you a starting point… a design… maybe even a colour scheme or a pattern to use to get your creative juices flowing.
Here’s a sketch I designed especially for you today!
Let It Snow
First of all, I took some of my simple die cut shapes like this plain green circle and added some stamp details. I took some brown ink and the small cluster of mini snowflakes from the Warm Winter Wishes stamp set and stamped on the green background. Then I took some red ink and stamped on the “stay warm!” sentiment too! A touch of glitter and you have a fabulous new embelly for your layout!
To incorporate the snowflake theme into my title, I took the mini cluster of snowflakes stamp again and stamped all over my three dimensional alphabets too! The stamping just adds a little touch of whimsy and interest.
Who couldn’t resist this adorable little snowman?… also from the Warm Winter Wishes stamp set. I stamped him on some Flourishes Classic White Cardstock, inked him up with a variety of colour coordinating Copic Markers and a touch of glitter. Now you have a cute little fellow to add to your layout… and so simple and easy to make it match all your patterned papers.
And again… mittens are a must when it comes to snow! So I stamped a pair of warm woolly mittens to add as an embellishment to my snowy inspired layout. These mittens are also found on the Warm Winter Wishes stamp collection.
Did you notice the pink circle too? I again took a simple stamp and made this simple die cut shape my own!
