Today we are dedicating space on our blogs to a lady who has given unselfishly of herself to Flourishes since the very beginning. She joined Flourishes just as we opened the door four years ago. Along the way, she’s inspired so many that have seen her creations and her blog, Running with Scissors. Each and every post seems to be more creative than the last and her creations always make our jaws drop. What many don’t know is — she even designed a set for Flourishes called Mixed Greetings, which is now retired. She has been a very visible force in Flourishes, but oh how much she has given behind the scenes as well. She has been a great extra pair of eyes when proposing concepts, giving valuable insight, thoughts and suggestions.
She and I are not only friends on the surface for Flourishes, but have a very personal friendship that has grown over the phone and through many, many emails. Last year, we had the great pleasure of spending days together at CHA. I found, not to my surprise, that she was even better in person. Funny, lively and bursting with energy! Oh she did let us know what items were her favorites and what she really wanted to see in the store. She was like a kid in a candy store…oh how great was our time together.
Leslie has thought long and hard about her decision to retire for now. I know how hard this has been for her. We spent much time on the phone as she worked through this decision. Believe me when I say that it did not come easy for her. She has taken this on with great deliberation. I totally respect her decision in every aspect.
As a way to say goodbye and wish Leslie well, the entire Flourishes Design Team is celebrating her style by CASE-ing one of the Leslie creations that they love. It’s only appropriate that we give Leslie a great send off. I hope you will enjoy reliving these great works from one great lady.
I selected With Gratitude, our gift set available to our FLIP customers. This is my humble creation….
and this will take you to Leslie’s blog for my inspiration.

I’m in awe of the creative talent on Flourish’s team, and can’t wait to see what will be created in the coming years. My coloring ability isn’t what I’d like it to be, but someday I hope to do justice to all of the Flourishes stamps I now own and those I’ll collect in the meantime. Bravo, Flourishes! Best wishes, Joanne Lowe.

I will SO miss Leslie as a part of Flourishes. Somehow, I think that I found Leslie and her blog even before I discovered Flourishes, so to me, for several years, she was the face of the company.
