The Magic Ship

Today is my last Sunday as Limelight Designer for Flourishes. I had fun creating projects that would be featured here on the Flourishes Blog. What an honor! You know it won’t be the last time you see me using Flourishes stamps though. I LOVE Flourishes images. They are so much fun to color and to create cards with!

For my last post, I thought I would make a Magic Card and use that sample to create a video tutorial for this interactive card. We had several requests for a video tutorial over on SCS for that card. For the video, I created the card slightly different then the photo tutorial. Just because I wanted to use Nestabilities and my Wizard to cut the window instead of using the Coluzzle.

The magic card frame base was created out of a 4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of brown cardstock scored in half. A slit was cut over the score line and the front of the base was covered with a piece of Bo Bunny Gabrielle paper.

A 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ strip of Bo Bunny Gabrielle Patterned paper was adhered to a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of paper from the same paper pack. The paper was stitched to a 4″ 5 1/4″ piece of brown cardstock before a window was cut into the center with a classic Oval Nestabilities die.

Linen Thread was wrapped around the layers underneath the window. A frame was cut out of brown cardstock with a Beaded and Classic Oval die out of brown cardstock and adhered over the window with dimensionals.

A sentiment from the stamp set A Guiding Light was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on white cardstock and cut and embossed with a Circle Nestabilities die. The center of the circle was colored with Copic Marker BG10. The sentiment was adhered to the lower right corner of the frame with dimensionals.

The ship image from A Guiding Light was stamped stamped on a white cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers (Ship: E31, E33, E37 Sails: W00, W1, W3 Sky: B0000, B000, B01 Water: BG10, BG11, BG13). It was stamped again with the help of a Stamp-a-majic on a piece of Acetate. The cardstock was placed in between the frame created, the acetate on top. They are held together on top with a 1″ circle punched out of Gabrielle patterned paper. Linen thread was tied through the circle to make sure the layers won’t come apart. Silver half pearls finish off the card front.

Here is a video for the visual learner:

Thanks so much for letting me hang out here with you! Thanks again to Flourishes for letting me be the Limelight Designer for May! I had so much fun.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend! Hugs and smiles!
