Happy Mother’s Day

Hello all… just a quick note! If some of you tried to click on Flourishes Blog and Store yesterday, you might have experienced a little bit of a struggle – we were in the midst of moving over our store and blog to a new server and some folks had some troubles. In the move, we lost this BEAUTIFUL post below from Beate Johns as a part of our Sunday Limelight Post. So, if you missed it, here’s an instant replay! ~Julie

I am excited to share another Flourishes card with you on Mother’s Day! I hope all you Mothers get spoiled rotten from your kids, grandchildren and husbands today. You deserve it!

For my card I chose an image from the Lenten Rose stamp set. I had used the flower cluster before, but not the bouquet in a vase. I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on white cardstock and cut and embossed it with the largest of the Lattice Nestabilities die. The image was then colored with Copic Markers (FlowerPetals: Y13, Y15, Y17 Flower Center: YR14, E99, E37 Leaves & Stems: YG61, YG63, YG67 Water: BG000, BG53 Vase: C0, C1, C3 Ground: E71, E74, E77, E79 Background: B0000, B000, B21)

A 4 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of patterned paper was stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of Kraft cardstock. The image layer was stitched into the center of those layers.

A sentiment from Motherly Love was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock, cut and embossed with a Classic Oval Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers (B0000, B000). The oval was then layered on a piece of Kraft cardstock, cut and embossed with a Classic Scallop Oval Nestabilities die. I punched a hole on each end of the oval and threaded White Organdy Ribbon through it. The oval was adhered to the card layers with dimensionals and the ribbon was tied into a bow.

The layers were adhered to the card base, a 4 3/4″ x 11 1/2″ piece of white cardstock, folded in half. Orange Kaisercraft Rhinestones on the sentiment panel, upper right and lower left corner finish off the card.

Have a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Hugs and smiles
Beate
