Happy Friday! Stacy here with the Friday Focus. For my week, I thought I would take some time to show you how you can use some of those great new Spellbinders dies to create windows on your cards. All the shapes are just wonderful and have so many possibilities! This is my first tutorial so please be gentle….
First you will want to determine the size of your card. I am going with a long and tall card for this tutorial. Once you have the size, pick the Spellbinders shape you would like to use. I have choosen the Labels 14 die. Next, I eyeball how close you want the first window to be on the panel and then…. cut!

Now, you will see the first window cut out and will want to place the die below for the second cut. Now you can get all fancy and do different shapes or even make them at odd angles. I kept this straight up and down today.
This is what it will look like after you have both windows cut out. This is the time you would want to sponge the edges of your card stock or even stamp a border on the panel. I chose to add some glitter to the inner ring of my windows.
Next, you will want to turn this panel over and add your pop up dots or dimensionals, depending on your preference. I use dimensionals just in case I forget to mark where the windows are suppose to be, which is coming up next.
I already had my card base, my second layer and my third layer down, so I place my panel down and put a small pencilled X to mark roughly where the center of the windows are. This way I know where to stamp my image to color.

This second card is one I did for the October release using Sweets of the Season. I love how this one turned out with the embossed swiss dots in the background. The yummy red stripped ruffled ribbon was a perfect match with these candycanes.
Multiple windows are a little more tricky because you really have to postition your dies first and make sure you have room for them all. This one I made a long time ago using the Irish Blessings set. It’s a great way to show off several images in one set. I even got to use one of the cut outs for the sentiment.. now how cool is that?

Thanks for joining me today! I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at how windows can add pizazz to your cards and creations! Since its Flourishes Friday, be sure to check out what fabulous creations the rest of the Flourishes girls came up with today. Some used windows, others just did their own thing!
Have a wonderful day!
